Interesting to consider the power positions between the parties involved in the discourse/disagreement. And especially when you look at all the women involved -all LDS- all asking for the basic rules to be followed. Great post, really thought provoking!

Thank you. This is good work and very helpful.

I spent some time with the Bible, as filtered through LDS scriptures, to develop a reasonably comprehensive list of what these sources have to say about government, society, and how we treat one another.

It was a real learning experience. It is also tragic that those most loudly demanding “biblical” government rarely, if ever, refer to these teachings. And Mormons have become adept at ignoring teachings from their own scriptures.

I appreciate your discourse. You say you disagree with both political parties. In your attempt to be impartial... could your scripture quotations go beyond Mormon doctrine and include other religious texts? For example, the Bible? the Koran? Thank you.

Once again, an intelligent, well thought out look at complex subjects. Tying them together cohesively was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for your hours of hard work and deep thoughts on our behalf.
